Here chicky chicky!

So for Easter, we decided to get Kylia baby chicks. She came with us to pick them out. She was SO excited at the store. She was jumping up and down screaming. We decided to get a yellow one and a black one.
At first, She seemed to really like them. We helped her pet them and let them run around on paper on the floor.
BUT then she decided she HATED them. It got to the point where we couldn't even get her to look at them. I held open her hand so she could hold one and she started screaming and almost threw the bird across the room.

She just kept running from them every time we showed them to her. It was kind of funny, but sad at the same time. She hated our little present which is weird because she will often sit by the window and scream "Burr, Burr!!" Which is why we thought that she would love them, but I guess she likes them better at a distance.
Look how cute they are! The yellow one is asleep here and the black one liked to cuddle into Jared's palm.
Well after about an hour of Kylia screaming and running from them, we decided that she was too young and we took them back. Unfortunately for us, they don't take animals back once they have been outside..... We were able to return the heat lamp and everything else, but we gave the little chickys to a couple that raised them.
What is funny is that I really miss them! They were so stinking cute and so much fun to watch run around.

Obsessed

Often times, Kylia puts dad to sleep instead of the other way around

"Mom, I'm board. Can I come play with you?"

She LOVES her Cow-thing

I know, so many videos but I'm obsessed. Can you blame me? Look at how stinking cute she is! Plus she has a fever of 101.5 in this. What a tough little girl!

She LOVES to play the piano!

Ky has become our little shadow. She loves being around people ESPECIALLY when they have food. She has started eating somethings from off the table and she is loving all the new tastes of things.

Bath time!

Kylia's favorite thing to do is bath time! She loves to splash and blow bubbles in the water. She actually started blowing bubbles on her own! Enjoy!

My little Sister

So my little sister is a wonderful exmample to me. She called me yesterday excited that she had gotten her first LEAD role in a play. BUT she was a little nervous. She told me that this role required her to make out with a guy on stage, take off his shirt, and drag him off stage(as if going to have sex). She told me that she REALLY wanted a lead role, but she didn't know how she felt about this.

Lisa: I know mom and dad will be mad. They wouldn't want me to do this, but it is my FIRST lead.

Me: Is it worth fighting with them about it?

Lisa: It's not just that. What if my friends come to see the play? What if the younger girls from the ward come to watch? I know its just a play but I don't want anyone to think anything about me because of this. What should I do?

Me: Well, its up to you.

Lisa: I know but, the list is technically posted tomorrow. My teacher just told me I already got it. I want A part. I think that It might be too late.

So I basically told Lisa to email her teacher and see what happens. Lisa ended up telling the teacher she wasn't comfortable with it and that her parents wouldn't like it. She ended up not getting the part and getting a much smaller role. She told me that she knew she did what was right, but that she was just a little dissapointed that she didn't get a lead. I told her that hopefully another role would come her way.

I wish that I had been more like her when I was young. She is very strong, has a good head on her shoulders, and is such a good example to me and those around her.

So I am amazed at how smart little kids are. They learn and grasp things so quickly. Tonight, when Kylia was in the bath she fell back but caught herself with her hands. Her feet were stuck in the air and she just didn't know what to do. She looked as if she was terrified to fall under but couldn't push herself up. It was amazing how she knew that she wasn't supposed to go under the water. She had never slipped under the water before and had a problem. They are just so smart! I love being able to watch Ky learn. Being a mom really is SO great!

Kylia has gotten SOO big! She gets into EVERYTHING! Each day, she seems to be getting bigger and smarter. She LOVES to dance. Whenever music comes on, she starts tapping her foot and bouncing! It is so cute! Here is Ky walking and notice her CUTE little pig tails. She reminds me of the little girl from Monsters inc.
