Frustrations of a small town....

Things I love about Rexburg…
I love the fact that I walked to school today in -31 degree weather (including wind chill)

I love the fact that I slipped on the ice walking down the sidewalk

I love the fact that someone yelled at me, “learn how to drive” because I backed up so I could get into my parking spot in 3 inches of snow, between two very nice cars. My Bad!!

I love that there are 6 sidewalks on a main road that is only 4 blocks long.

I love breathing in and feeling everything inside of my body freeze.

I love that it snowed over a foot of snow in the past few days

I love that I have to run the heat at 80 degrees to heat my apartment (and the one above me) to 70

I love that everyone is in such a hurry that they can’t stop at a stop sign (I see someone run a stop sign EVERY day, how do the cops miss this?)

Venting, I’m sorry. I just got yelled at and it makes me so mad that people are in such a hurry that they aren’t willing to wait 5 seconds. You know, I think that I am one of the few people in this town that KNOWS how to drive. I actually stop at stop signs and allow people to backup and park AND I don’t roll down the window and yell at them for it. You think that with so many LDS people we could all get along, but everyone is so cranky here. I’m not saying that I’m always the happiest person, but I can say that I really have been trying to not get angry on the road when dealing with stupid people. (Ask Jared)

For the love of greenbeens!

So this morning Kyli decided she does NOT like green beans. First spoonful? She gagged, full on gagged. Second spoonful? She learned how to spit them out. Bad news.

Ky usually likes food, but this morning was a new story. I wanted to get some green beans down so I decided to give her one of her favorite treats on top of the green beans. This only worked once.

From then on, I had to trick her to get them down. I would hold out a treat and when she opened her mouth, I'd surprise her with green beans. BUT I had to stop doing this because she started to cry every time. So I let her win today and decided to just give her some of her snacks instead.

Yum, Yum!!!

I think I'll have another

Yeah for snacks!!

Ky's New Room

After 8 months, we finally put together a cute room for Ky. My mom bought me a lot of fun stuff to decorate and Jared and I finally broke down and bought a crib. What do you think?

Nice litte curtain too!
She was so excited!  Not realizing what she was doing she let go and took her first 4 steps.

Kylia got in a fight with some squashes, guess who won?

Cute new outfit!  Thanks Grandma!

Hawaii Pictures

At the last minute we decided that we wanted to spend Christmas in Hawaii. It was so much fun! It is nice to get away from the frozen north for once! Kylia absolutely loved the water, sand, and sun.

Lame I know....

Christmas Picture. Two weeks late and I can't even figure out how to turn it.

Don't Vacuum

So I realized something the other day, I don't vacuum. Ever.

Kylia crushed crackers all over the floor and I decided that the easiest way to clean it up would be to use the vacuum. I pulled it out and Ky started SCREAMING. It was ridiculous. The thing absolutely terrified her. Jared and I tried to convince her that it wasn't going to hurt her by softly patting the vacuum, but it didn't help. She was afraid to even look at it.

After I finished vacuuming, I put it away in the corner closet, while Ky was watching. For the rest of the night, she stared at the corner like it was going to come alive and eat her. We tried to feed her, but she was too afraid to take her eyes off the corner closet. We finally had to face her in the other direction so that she would eat.

Morale of the story? Don't ever vacuum

I would like to thank Shauna and the many games of scrabble for teaching me how to spell vacuum
