Don't Vacuum

So I realized something the other day, I don't vacuum. Ever.

Kylia crushed crackers all over the floor and I decided that the easiest way to clean it up would be to use the vacuum. I pulled it out and Ky started SCREAMING. It was ridiculous. The thing absolutely terrified her. Jared and I tried to convince her that it wasn't going to hurt her by softly patting the vacuum, but it didn't help. She was afraid to even look at it.

After I finished vacuuming, I put it away in the corner closet, while Ky was watching. For the rest of the night, she stared at the corner like it was going to come alive and eat her. We tried to feed her, but she was too afraid to take her eyes off the corner closet. We finally had to face her in the other direction so that she would eat.

Morale of the story? Don't ever vacuum

I would like to thank Shauna and the many games of scrabble for teaching me how to spell vacuum

Swings!

Saturday was probably the last beautiul day until next summer. So, Jared and I decided that we should take advantage of it. Kylia, Jared, and I all went to the park and we found that Ky LOVES the swings. She laughed and laughed. There were other people at the park (with more than one kid) and we could tell that they were laughing at us because we were taking so many pictures. As we were leaving, they said, "first kid? We were just like you guys!" Kids are great! I L-O-V-E being a mom. It really is the greatest!

Little girls are so much fun! I can't even believe how my life has changed in the last little while. Suddenly my world has started revolving around her. I know we are going to regret it, but Jared and I spoil her to death. She gets almost everything that she wants. She is such a good baby that we can't help but spoil her.

She has finally started sleeping through the night and it is wonderful. It makes a world of a difference not having to get up 6-7 times a night.

What we need from our governemnt

"A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both."
- Dwight Eisenhower

Bill Cosby's Platform:

(1) "Press 1 for English" is immediately banned.. English is the official language; speak it or wait at the border until you can.

(2) We will immediately go into a two year isolationist posture to straighten out the country's attitude. NO imports, no exports. We will use the 'Wal-Mart's policy, 'If we ain't got it, you don't need it.'

(3) When imports are allowed, there will be a 100% import tax on it.

(4) All retired military personnel will be required to man one of our many observation towers on the southern border. six month tour)They will be under strict orders not to fire on SOUTHBOUND aliens.

(5) Social security will immediately return to its original state. If you didn't put nuttin in, you ain't gettin nuttin out. The president nor any other politician will not be able to touch it.

(6) Welfare - Checks will be handed out on Fridays at the end of the 40 hour school week and the successful completion of urinalysis and a passing grade.

(7) Professional Athletes --Steroids - The FIRST time you check positive you're banned for life.

(8) Crime - We will adopt the Turkish method, the first time you steal, you lose your right hand. There is no more life sentences. If convicted, you will be put to death by the same method you chose for your victim; gun, knife, strangulation, etc.

9) One export will be allowed; Wheat, The world needs to eat. A bushel of wheat will be the exact price of a barrel of oil.

(10) All foreign aid using American taxpayer money will immediately cease, and the saved money will pay off the national debt and ultimately lower taxes. When disasters occur around the world, we'll ask the American people if they want to donate to a disaster fund, and each citizen can make the decision whether it's a worthy cause.

(11) The Pledge of Allegiance will be said every day at school and every day in Congress.

(12) The National Anthem will be played at all appropriate ceremonies, sporting events, outings, etc.

Sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes but a vote for me will get you better than what you have, and better than what you're gonna get. Thanks for listening, and remember to write in my name on the ballot in November.
God Bless America !!!!!!!!!!!

It is crazy how fast kids grow. It seems like yesterday that Kylie was falling asleep anywhere and everywhere. She has developed quite the personality. She is so much fun. She has started to roll across the room. It drove her crazy that she couldn't crawl, so she started rolling over till she gets what she wants.

She is always smiling. When i go to get her out of bed in the morning, she just smiles up as if to say, "Look I'm awake!!! Isn't that something!" Even at two in the morning, she is all smiles. She laughs the most at night, right before bed. She gets really silly and will just laugh and laugh till she is too tired to laugh anymore.

When I come home from school, she is usually playing in the center of the room and when I walk in she just laughs and smiles. It really makes you feel so stinking special to have a little kid that just loves you to death and thinks you are hysterical.

Kylie snores. It is SOOO funny. She talks too, she gets both of these things from me. Whats funny is that it isn't a subtle snore, its pretty loud! I didn't even know babies could snore when they are this little

She is so curious. She wants everything and anything. Shoes, toys, food, clothes, her car seat, her two fingers, her toes, cards, phones, and anything she can get her hands on.

She loves being naked. Every time we change her clothes or diaper she goes crazy. She squirms and squeals and laughs. I never thought changing diapers could be SO much fun!

She loves to move. We bought her a jumper and she loves being able to stand up and see everything around her. It gives her so much freedom. She never really liked being on the ground.

She loves being around people. She is the loudest when she is around a ton of people. I think that she feels she has to compete for the attention. Jared took her up to bear his testimony once and she was up there talking, flirting and smiling at everyone in the audience. It was adorable.

She loves to sit up. She is getting really, really strong. She will sit up and play with toys, watch TV, or just giggle and talk to you. Staying sitting up is one of her favorite things.

Her favorite food is bananas. She recently started eating the purees and she loves them. She can't get enough of them, except for the green beans. She hates those. She just grimaces and spits them back out. She is a fan of yams too. Not my favorite.

she has started sleeping through the night a little better than she has been. i don't know what the difference is but we are loving it! Nothing feels better than sleeping six hours straight.

She likes dresses. She likes being able to lift them up and suck on them till they are soaked completely. I thought she was teething because she drools like crazy, but I think now it is just because she likes to just get things soaked just so she can change clothes.

I never thought being a mom would be so much fun!! It is the greatest thing in the world. I can't wait till I'm done with school and can just stay home and play!

There are two things that really bother me.

1. Bobby Pins-I hate bobby pins. I use them all the time but they never hold their shape. they always stretch out just a little, then they won't hold anything. what is worse is when they do it as the day progresses and by the time you get home, your hair has fallen apart. For example, yesterday I wore the "Utah Bump" By the time I got home, the bump was no longer on the top of my head, but the side. I looked ridiculous.

2. Tests that no matter how hard you study for, you still fail- I don't understand how I can study my butt off and still fail. I have one C on my transcript, one. I am taking Accounting 302 and I studied so hard for my last test. I got a 60. I went into the test understanding the concepts completely.I had no questions. I went in drew out my little diagram that is supposed to contain the mysteries of the universe and it didn't help. I'm not stupid, why can't I pass?

I know, silly, but oh well, what can you do?

Rexburg

So Once again we are back in Rexburg. Good to be back, but I have no motivation to go to school. I just want to be done. I want to be able to stay home and play with the family. I'm jealous that Jared gets to play with her every morning(she is happiest in the morning). Ky is getting so stinking big. She is rolling over, playing with toys and toes, talking all the time, and still not sleeping through the night. She is so sporadic. For like a week she will sleep through the night and then for the next two she will be up at four ready to play. Any suggestions on getting her to stay asleep?

I love Jared more than anything. I left him alone for two days while I stayed in Arkansas with my family. This was the result....

One Year

Things I've learned in my first year of marriage
1. Being careful DOESN'T work
2. Yes, it does matter which way you put the toilet paper on the holder
3. Staying up way, way, way too late once every now and then won't kill you
4. Going to bed early and talking for an hour is something that should be done often
5. It's okay to leave dishes in the sink overnight
6. Homemade food does include hamburger helper
7. Walks are amazing
8. Be flexible and patient
9. Just because you like to do something one way, it doesn't mean it's the right or the best way
10. Cherry 7-Up fixes everything
11. Skipping homework one time is okay
12. A B- is still a good grade
13. Husbands are sometimes better cooks
14. We all do dumb things: forgive, forget, and move on
15. Being silly is a lot of fun
16. Communication is vital
17. Plans will change
18. In-laws can be pretty cool
19. It is good to have family close, but having your own space is important
20. I will never be as good as him at Settlers of Catan or Speed Scrable
21. Always say I love you

Jared and I celebrated our one year anniversary last Monday and it's crazy how much you learn and change in one year. Your whole life you look forward to growing up and getting older and I can understand why. Life just gets better! Even when things arn't that great, it is so nice to have someone to turn to and share everything with. I have loved being able to share everything with my best friend.

Both of us are so excited for the baby girl. The closer it gets, the more nervous we get. She'll be here in 5 days! It is crazy how time flies. It is nice to know that me and him are in this together!

Anyways, I hope everyone is having a great week and if ya'll can think of any cute girl names, let us know! We're running out of time!

So lately I have become extrealmy baby hungry. One of my good friends just had a baby and he is absolutely adorable! It is crazy how tiny and perfect they are!

I am so excited and anxious for this little girl. I'm ready for her to be here especially since I've put on 30 pounds and am out growing all my maternity clothes. It's rediculous how big you get. The thing I miss the most is being able to jump on the the kitchen counters... that and climbing up stairs. I'm usually winded after one flight of stairs, which really sucks because all my classes are on the 4th floor and the elevator is on the otherside of the building. Lame!

Anyways, hope everyone is doing good! Love you guys!

Soo..... I woke up this morning to the baby kicking me in my back by my ribs and punching me in the bladdar! How does she do that? Isn't the uterus in the front? This baby stuff is crazy.

I'm just gonna brag for a second but I went snowboarding last weekend and it was sooo hard being sooo fat. Everytime I fell down, I couldn't stand back up because my belly was in the way... Suck

Saturday, February 9, 2008

soo, it's a girl!!! We are so freakin excited. Jared is absolutely adorable. Everytime we pass a baby, he stops and watches. It's really funny. Even if we're watching a moive and there is a baby, he gets this face. It is fun to be able to see and feel her moving around. She really comes alive right before I go to bed. She's going to be a very lively one. The picture isn't that great, but you can still kind of see her. May 4th is coming so quick! It's weird to think that she will be here before sumnmer! AAHH!

So basically I suck at blogging! Sooo school has officially started and it's already kicking my trash. I spend literally 24/7 doing homework. It drives Jared nuts. Jared is enjoying school and beating Zelda on Wii. Christmas was absolutely amazing. We were able to spend two weeks in texas, a week in Utah nd a few days in Idaho. Of all the places, Texas was the best. Idaho is usually below 5 degrees and Utah is snowy... Texas was just perfect! It was 75 almost the whole time, and i loved being able to see the fam.

So the cars were basically my favorite part of Utah... They're snowcars. Jared's neighbor made something new everytime that it snowed. The week beofre it was the Simpsons sitting on the couch. When we were leaving town, he was working on the shark and the fish from Shark's tale.

Ps i also got lost on Mars over Christmas... It was pretty intense
